Payslips

After your agency runs payroll for each pay period, a payslip appears in your portal. You can view it on screen or download a PDF for your records.

Where payslips appear

Click Payslips in the sidebar. The list shows every payslip the agency has issued for you, most recent first. Each row shows the pay period, the net pay and a download button.

When they appear

A payslip is created once your agency has run payroll for the pay period that includes your approved timesheets and expenses. Most agencies run payroll weekly or monthly on a fixed day. Your agency will tell you the schedule; you can also check the date of your most recent payslip to see the rhythm.

Notification

You receive an email when a new payslip is available. The email links straight to the payslip in the portal.

Downloading a PDF

To download a copy:

  1. Open Payslips.
  2. Find the pay period you want.
  3. Click Download payslip.

The PDF downloads to your device. The file name follows the pattern payslip-{YYYY-MM-DD}.pdf so it's easy to keep them organised.

What a payslip shows

Every payslip includes:

  • Gross pay - the total you earned before any deductions.
  • Tax - income tax withheld from your pay.
  • National Insurance (UK) or PAYG (AU) - government-mandated deductions.
  • Other deductions - anything else (pension, salary sacrifice).
  • Net pay - the amount paid into your bank account.
  • Year-to-date totals - cumulative gross, tax and net across the tax year.

The hours and expense lines on the payslip match the timesheets and expenses you submitted for the pay period.

Year-end summaries

At the end of the tax year your agency issues a year-end summary:

  • UK candidates receive a P60, summarising your earnings and tax for the year.
  • Australian candidates receive a PAYG payment summary (also called an income statement).

Both appear in the Payslips tab alongside your regular payslips. Download these and keep them somewhere safe - your tax return needs them.

Querying a payslip

If something on a payslip doesn't look right (missing hours, wrong rate, unexpected deduction), contact your recruiter and reference the pay period and payslip date. They can correct it on the next pay run with an adjustment.
