Adding a client
Add a client when you start working with a new organisation. The client record holds billing details, contacts, locations and rate cards in one place.
Where to find the Add client button
- Open the Clients page from the main navigation.
- Click Add client in the top right of the client list.
The add-client form
The Add client button opens a form with four tabs across the top: Details, Financials, Contacts and Compliance. Use Next to move through them, and save on the last tab.
Only the client Name is required. Everything else is optional, though filling more in early keeps reporting and invoicing clean.
Details tab
The Details tab holds the core information:
- General information - name, parent client (link this client beneath another as a sub-client), telephone, website, LinkedIn, default timezone, email, an FOI contact, a regulatory body website, and a summary.
- Supply chain - whether the client is on your supply chain, the date added, a tier level, and any timesheet requirements.
- Internal information - the account manager, divisions and pipeline status.
- Contact preferences - which channels (phone, email, WhatsApp, SMS, mailshot) and which marketing purposes the client has agreed to.
- Client address - entered with an address search (Find address).
Financials, Contacts and Compliance tabs
- Financials holds the client's rate card and billing settings, which drive what contracts and invoices calculate. See Rate cards.
- Contacts is where you add the people you deal with at the client. See Client contacts.
- Compliance holds the client's own document checklist, layered on top of your baseline compliance. See Compliance overview.
Locations are not part of the add form; you add them from the client record once it exists. See Client locations.
Saving and next steps
Click Save to create the client. Once saved, the client record opens and you can:
- Attach a rate card so contracts and invoices calculate automatically.
- Add any further locations or contacts.
- Create your first vacancy linked to this client.
