Platform basics overview

Most pages in RecSphere are built around a list table: Candidates, Vacancies, Clients, Contracts and more. These tables share the same set of tools, so once you learn them on one page you can use them everywhere.

This section covers the tools that behave identically on every list page. Learn them once, then apply them on whichever page you happen to be on, whether that is the Candidates page, the Vacancies page or any other.

The shared toolbar

Every list page lays out its controls in the same places, so you always know where to look.

  • Top left: a saved-view selector showing the current view and a star for marking or saving a preferred view.
  • Top right: a Search box, refresh, filter/sort controls, Manage Columns and, where the page supports creation, an Add button.
  • Bottom: a 'Showing X-Y of N records' count, a Rows per page selector (100 by default) and a pager to move between pages.

What you can do on a list page

Each tool has its own article in this section:

  • Columns and saved views. Choose which columns show, drag to reorder them where supported, and save a layout you can return to. See Columns and saved views.
  • Sorting. Click any column header to sort by it, and click again to flip the direction. A sort is stored as part of a view. See Columns and saved views.
  • Filtering. Narrow the list by criteria such as consultant, specialty or status, and save a set of criteria as a saved filter. See Filtering and saved filters.
  • Saved lists and bulk actions. Save a specific set of records as a list, then return to or act on that group later. See Saved lists and bulk actions.
  • Searching, refreshing and right-click actions. Find a record fast, reload the table, and use the right-click menu for quick actions. See Searching, refreshing and right-click actions.

Saved filters are not saved lists

These two ideas look similar but do different jobs:

  • A saved filter (the 'Select Saved Filter' picker) re-applies a set of criteria, so the results reflect whatever matches right now.
  • A saved list (the 'Select Saved List' picker) re-applies a specific set of records you chose earlier, as a snapshot.

Keep this distinction in mind as you read the rest of this section. Filtering and saved filters and Saved lists and bulk actions each explain their side in detail.

Learn it once

Because these tools work the same on every list page, the steps you learn on the Candidates page apply on the Vacancies, Clients and Contracts pages too.
