Columns and saved views

Every list page in RecSphere lets you control which columns appear, the order they sit in and how the table is sorted. You can save a layout as a named view and return to it whenever you like. These tools work the same way on any list page, for example the Candidates or Vacancies page.

Choosing which columns show​

  1. Open a list page and click the manage-columns icon at the top right.
  2. In the panel, active columns sit at the top and inactive columns below.
  3. Toggle a column on to move it into the active set, so it appears in the table.
  4. Toggle a column off to remove it from the table.

Reordering columns​

Each column row in the panel has a six-dot handle on its left.

  1. Hover over the handle until the grab cursor appears.
  2. Drag the row up or down to its new position.
  3. Release it, and the table updates to match the new order.

Sorting the table​

You sort directly from the table, not from the columns panel.

  1. Click any column header to sort the table by that column.
  2. Click the same header again to switch between ascending and descending order.

Each list has a sensible default sort. For example, the Candidates page sorts by last name to begin with. Because a sort is stored as part of a view, loading a view restores its sort along with its columns.

Saving and updating a view​

Once you have changed the columns, their order or the sort, the columns panel gives you three choices:

  • Save the changes to update the current view in place.
  • Discard the changes with the X to revert to the saved view.
  • Save as a new view to keep the current view and create another one.

To save the current layout as a named view from the page itself, click the star at the top left. A view stores the active columns, their order and the sort.

Views are private to you, and you can keep as many as you like (for example 'default' and 'default two').

Which view a page opens on​

A list page opens on the last view you selected or saved, so you pick up where you left off.

An admin can set a company default view, so new users start on a sensible layout rather than a blank one.

Views are personal

The views you create are visible only to you. The company default view is a separate, admin-controlled starting point, not a shared copy of your own views.
